About PicMilo

PicMilo is a free, independent tool for cropping photos and adjusting JPEG dimensions and file size. It combines a positioning guide with document-size presets and a source-linked country reference.

PicMilo is not a government service, passport office or accredited photographer. Country guidance distinguishes specific application routes and records its review date. Requirements can change, and the receiving authority makes the acceptance decision.

Your photos stay on your device.

Photo decoding, cropping, compression and optional background removal run in your browser. PicMilo does not upload your selected photo to a server, keep a server-side photo library, or perform face recognition.

The current photo and its original version are kept in browser memory for editing and restoration. Choosing a new photo or closing the tab ends that editing session. Files you download remain on your device and are under your control.

The website, sample photo and background-removal model are downloaded from the hosting service. The hosting provider may process ordinary connection information, including IP addresses, to deliver and secure the site. “Local photo processing” does not mean that visiting the site involves no network activity.

Cookies, measurement & advertising

PicMilo shows no advertising and has no accounts for storing photos. On picmilo.com, Google Analytics (provided by Google) is used only if you choose “Allow” in the cookie notice. It then counts page views and a few tool events: photo selected, preview ready, download requested and a fixed error type, together with the interface language, the selected size and whether the sample photo was used. Photos, image content, file names, facial information and error messages are never sent.

When allowed, Google Analytics sets first-party cookies (such as _ga) and Google receives ordinary connection and device information, such as IP address and browser type, to produce aggregated statistics. Google signals and ad personalisation are turned off, and event data is kept for up to 14 months. Learn how Google uses this information at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

If you choose “Decline”, or your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track, Google Analytics is not loaded. Your choice is saved in this browser. You can change it at any time with “Cookie settings” at the bottom of the page; withdrawing consent stops measurement and removes PicMilo’s Analytics cookies from this browser.

Your browser may cache website files and the processing model. The private preview host may also use its own sign-in mechanisms to control access; this is separate from photo processing.

If advertising is introduced, this page will be updated first to describe the services, information used and available choices, and any required consent controls will be provided.

Using the tool and its guidance

Use photos you own or have permission to process. Keep an unedited original and check the actual saved image before uploading or printing it.

Check the receiving authority’s current rules for composition, background, recency, file size and submission method. Matching the dimensions or positioning guide does not guarantee acceptance. PicMilo does not measure your face or check a document application for you.

The country reference links to official sources and identifies limits in what has been verified. Software and sample-image credits are available in the licenses page.
